ABOUT KAREN
Karen Galanaugh APR, MSM is an award-winning leader in the public relations and marketing communications industries. She is Accredited by Public Relations Society of America (PRSA); served as chapter president for both the Palm Beach Chapter and the Delaware Chapter of PRSA. She was named Communicator of Achievement by the Delaware Press Association; Awarded for Mentoring by PRSA Philadelphia; Named Most Effective Community Organizer by the National Trust for Historic Preservation; Served as contest director of the Annual National Communications Contest for the National Federation of Press Women; and named Outstanding Woman in Business in Delaware Today magazine. Early in Karen’s career, she wrote comedy for stand-ups and produced comedy shows in New York City. She also has a notable background in publishing and film production in New York. She put her undergraduate degree in communications from Temple University to work when she shifted her career to public relations in White Plains, New York. After 30 years of agency work and consulting, Karen has an amazing work history bringing brands to light, managing reputations and directing crisis communications for diverse clientele, from Fortune 500 and celebrities to Main Street businesses. Karen recently earned a Master’s Degree of Science in Business Management from Wilmington University with an emphasis on leadership and change management. Karen is a comfortable and engaging public speaker. She is an aspiring student of Ballroom and Latin dancing.
